Approximately 25,000 residences in southeastern Queensland found themselves lacking electricity on Monday morning after severe thunderstorms swept through the area, producing wind gusts reaching 109km/h.
Substantial Hailstones and Widespread Destruction
Homeowners observed giant hailstones reaching sizes of 7 centimeters in particular locations. Meteorological experts announced that multiple regions across Queensland had been affected by large hailstones.

Utility workers were focused on reestablishing power throughout the damaged zones, with nearly 70 crews activated to handle the widespread outages.
Victoria's Climate Difficulties
Meanwhile, approximately one thousand residents in the southern state also faced energy failures after the capital city saw its most precipitation in a year and a half.
Emergency response teams received 598 emergency reports across the state, mostly for building damage but also for downed trees and water accumulation.

During the peak on the previous day, more than twenty-eight thousand energy customers in the state were without power.

Moist weather were expected to linger along much of Queensland's east this coming days as a low-pressure trough continued to pull in damp air against the coastal areas.
The following day was predicted as the wettest day, with ongoing thunderstorm potential predicted across various areas of both states.

Health officials warned that there was an increased chance of thunderstorm-induced asthma across the countryside regions, particularly given the current weather patterns.
